Worry about your calori intake while enjoying holiday in Korea ? Maybe you shouldn't , because Korea actually really love healthy food and provide so many options.
Healthy Soup for Lunch is Everywhere
Samgyetang ( Roasted whole chicken with clear soup )
when i first time visited famous Samgyetang restaurant in Jongno district which name Tosokchon Samgyetang, my reaction was the price is so expensive around 15.000 - 25.000 won. I expect that the taste should be really really good. Turn out that the taste of the chicken meat was really soft, juicy, with the broth flavour seeps into it. The borth taste was really amazing like they have cooked it for a long hours. they also put some sticky rice and herbal into the chicken, it's the first time i tried it and the sticky rice complete the menu so it's not boring. I went to the restaurant with my friend and we decide to have 1 bowl ( half chicken ) for each of us. Turn out the chicken portion is big , and our stomach fell very full.
If you have a really tiring day after exploring the city, i think Samgyetang is the perfect menu for dinner. The nutrition really recover the body well and you will feel energinze again after eating them.

Pho ( Vietnamese )
Want something different that healthy, warm, and not Korean ? Pho is the answer. Vietnamese restaurant in Korea especially in Seoul has so many food options to try and become favourite destination for autumn and winter season. When September arrive, the weather starting to get cold and keep decreasing from 10 degree Celcius until - 15 degree Celcius around January and February. So tips for you who want to visit Seoul during that time, i really recommend to try Pho. My favourite restaurant is the one at Hongdae just accross the AK Plaza. Because last Autumn my house was at Yeonhui-dong, so i walk across this street almost everyday. My favourite menu is the Mala Thang Pho , which is the spicies one from all of the menu. But of course the clear broth option is still delicious and fresh.
Mandu
Want to skip eating rice but still full ? of course try the mandu soup. What surprise me about mandu in Korea is the big portion of mandu that they give for a bowl of soup. Commonly there are 5 - 6 big mandu in every portion that makes me extra full. Some restaurant serving fried mandu , which are great if you get bored with the steamed one. For a special event, i recommend to visit restaurant that serve mandu with complete vegetable in a big hotpot plate, the portion is perfect for 4 people and they can turn the leftover soup into a poridge, which is amazing and very fullfilling the stomach. My favourite mandu flavour is kimchi, because its so uniquely korean and i rarely can find it in my country.

Gamja-tang ( Pork Back Bone Stew )
What are the ingredients of Gamja-tang ? according to wikipedia it si a spicy Korean soup made from spine or neck bones of a pig, and the soup is often contains potatoes, cellophane noodles, greens, perilla leaves, green onions, hot peppers, and ground perilla seeds. This stew is really great for dinner with family, because the portion is big for 4-5 people, the process of eating the meat, the vegetable, sharing the soup are very fun and can create interesting conversation. Of course because this stew contain meat and vegetable makes this dish as a healthy option. What makes is stew more special is that we can recook the leftover stew become fried rice or instan noodle. The rich broth absorbed by the noodle makes the taste goes to another level, You will keep eating them even though you already full from the meat and vegetable at the first round.
